Feeder vessel MV Harbour-1 of Nipa Paribahan under Indo-Bangla Coastal Feeder service will leave Chittagong Port today after two times date extension . . The container vessel MV Harbour was scheduled to leave for Krishnapattam Port of India on Sunday last but could not leave Chittagong Port for onward destination to Krishnapattam Port , India lack of empty containers.
Port sources said the container vessel owmed by Nipa Paribahan scheduled to leave Chittagong on Sunday but consequent holidays for last 3 days, and lack of desired numbers of empty containers of the shippers and it was rescheduled for embarkation on Thursday last.
Mentionable that Ports & Shipping Minister Md. Shahjahan Khan formally inaugurated the coastal feeder service between Bangladesh & India recently in a colourful ceremony at NCT-1 yard .
Sources said Harbour-1 vessel has capacity of carrying 170 containers as well as bulk cargo which was built in West Marine shipyard of chittagong. Nipa Paribahan is owned by Nure Alam Chowdhury MP of Madaripur, sources said.
Port sources said to load the empty containers, the vessel anchored in inner berth yesterday morning.Chief Executive Officer of Nipa Paribahan SirajurRahman told this correspondent that this container vessel was supposed to leave chittagong with 150 empty containers but lack of desired containers, refixed the schedule by two times.
He further said now the vessel in inner berth of the port to load the containers which is supposed to leave port today afternoon.
Mentionable that during the recent visit of Indian Prime Minister Norendra Modi, Coastal Feeder Service deal was signed and under this pact, the feeder service between these friendly countries launched on March 15 last at Chittagong Port.
