Lefr-arm seamer Mustafizur Rahman is searching for more rooms to improve in the upcoming Asia Cup in United Arab Emirates. He wants to give his 100 per cent in the tournament.
Mustafizur bagged 13 wickets in limited-overs series against Windies. He was the highest wicket-taker in the T20I series, which Bangladesh won 2-1. He revealed that he gave only 60 per cent during that tour.
“I could not give my one hundred per cent while bowling in the West Indies. I would say, I have utilised 60 per cent of my ability,” Mustafizur told reporters in Mirpur. “Pacers need rhythm [in their bowling]. I am okay now, but I can find better rhythm. I still have the opportunity to improve in every area.”
Bangladeshi players are working with new head coach Steve Rhodes as a preparation for Asia Cup. The Fizz wants to continue developing under the Englishman to fulfill expectations.
“There is no such objective. But I’ll try to do well. Many people have expectations from me. I will try to fulfill that.
“Previously, we had Hathu (Chandika Hathurusinghe), now there is a new coach. Different coaches plan differently. Although there hasn’t been any massive changes, this coach’s plan, however, is a little different. If we can comply that, then it is possible to make progress,” he added.
Mustafizur has faced injuries several times since 2016. He played in IPL, T20 Blast and PSL till now. The 22-year-old has been barred from foreign leagues for two years by BCB (Bangladesh Cricket Board) to stay away from injuries.
