Left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman will play in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for Rajasthan Royals. Rajasthan Royal bought Mustafizur Rahman for Indian Rupees one crore.
The ‘Cutter Master’ will not play in the upcoming two-match Test series in Sri Lanka. So, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) gave him No Objection Certificate (NOC).
Chief Selector of the BCB Minhajul Abedin Nannu said, ” The BCB did not include Mustafizur Rahman in the Test squad, which will play Test series in Sri Lanka. So, BCB issued NOC for the left-arm pacer to play in the upcoming IPL. Mustafizur’s IPL campaign will be helpful for him and he will get experience there.
Earlier, Mustafizur Rahman said, “I shall take part in the Test series not IPL. If BCB includes me in the Test squad I shall play Test matches rather than IPL.”
Bangladesh will leave the city for Sri Lanka on April 12 to take part in the two-match Test series in Sri Lanka. The first Test between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will be held on April 21 to April 25, while the second Test between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will take place on April 29 to May 3.
Meanwhile, Mustafizur will play for Rajasthan Royals against Punjab Kings in his first match on April 12.
It may be mentioned that ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan left the city on March 28 for India to take part in the IPL for Kolkata Knight Riders. Kolkata Knight Riders bought Shakib for Indian Rupees 3.2 crore.
