Famed Bangladeshi pace bowler Mustafizur Rahman will undergo surgery on his left shoulder at Bupa Cromwell Hospital in London today (Thursday).
The surgery will be conducted by orthopedic surgeon Dr Andrew Wallace who has been involved with sports surgery for a long period.
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) recommended Andrew Wallace was recommended to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) for the operation.
BCB physio Debashish Chowdhury left Dhaka for London on Tuesday night to know about details of the rehabilitation procedure of Mustafizur Rahman.
According to Debashish Chowdhury, Andrew Wallace has been involved with sports surgery for a long period and many of the England and Indian cricketers returned to the ground after taking surgery under Wallace.
Mustafiz will need about 5-6 months to recover after a successful operation, the Tigers’ physio said.
The pace-bowling sensation complained of pain after his second match for Sussex on July 22. He was ruled out of the rest of their one-day and T20 campaign with a SLAP (Superior Labrum from Anterior to Posterior) tear, and did not return to Bangladesh.
