Sports Reporter :’Magic Boy’ Mustafizur Rahman set a new world record bagging two more wickets to 13 while India escaped Banglawash winning by 77 runs in the third and final ODI against Bangladesh at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Wednesday. With yesterday’s two wickets, Mustafizur Rahman ultimately captured altogether 13 wickets in three consecutive matches setting the new world record.Sent into bat first, India piled up a huge 317 for the six wickets in the stipulated 50 overs. Needing 318 to win, Bangladesh were all out for 240 off 47 overs. Bangladesh had an unlucky start as opener Tamim Iqbal (5) was trapped leg before wicket by Dhawal Kulkarni when Bangladesh’s score was 8 for the loss of one wicket. Then Soumya Sarkar and Liton Das repaired the early damage contributing together 54 runs for the second wicket partnership before Soumya Sarkar was caught at the mid-on by Ravichandran Ashwin when the Tigers total was 62 for the loss of two wickets. Sarkar hit a sparkle 40 from 34 balls including five fours and two sixes.After departure of Soumya, Liton Das and Mushfiqur Rahim built another notable partnership. They put on together 50 runs in the third wicket before Mushfiqur Rahim was caught behind by wicketkeeper MS Dhoni off Suresh Raina when Bangladesh’s score was 112 for the loss of three wickets. Then Liton Das was bowled out by Axar Patel when the hosts’ total was 118 for the loss of four wickets. Liton Das made 30 off 50 ball featuring three fours while Mushfiqur Rahim scored a modest 24 off 30 balls.Ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan was caught at the long-on by Dhawal Kulkarni off Suresh Raina for 20 when the home sides’ total was 148 for the loss of five wickets.Later, Sabbir Rahman and Nasir Hossain put on together 49 runs for the sixth wicket partnership before Sabbir Rahman was bowled by Stuart Binny when Bangladesh’s score was 197 for the loss of six wickets.Sabbir notched up a respectable 43. His 38-ball innings was decorated with six fours.After dismissal of Sabbir, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza was bowled out by Ravichandran Ashwin before Mashrafe could open his account when Bangladesh’s score was 205 for the loss of seven wickets.Then Nasir Hossain was caught at the cover by Ambati Rayudu off Ravichandran Ashwin when the hosts total was 216 for the loss of eight wickets.Nasir Hossain knocked 32 off 30 balls with three fours.Tail-enders Rubel Hossain was dismissed for 2 and Mustafizur Rahman was trapped leg before wicket by Ambati Rayudu for nine runs when Bangladesh’s innings came to an end.Suresh Raina grabbed three wickets at the cost of 45 runs while Dhawal Kulkarni and Ravichandran Ashwin bagged a pair of wickets each for 34 and 35 runs respectively.Besides, Ambati Rayudu, Stuart Binny and Axar Patel took one wicket apiece.
