Mustafa Zaman Abbasi is not only pride of Bangladesh but also one of the legendary singers and litterateurs of country. Today he will complete 80. To celebrate his 80th birthday, a colourful festival is going to be arranged by ‘Kathpencil Sahitya Sangsad’ at Poet Sufia Kamal Auditorium of National Museum in the city’s Shahbag area.
While talking about its arrangement Sangsad President Shimanto Akram told this correspondent, “To be chaired by Emeritus Professor Rafiqul Islam Prof Abdullah Abu Sayeed will be present as the chief guest in the birth festival of Mustafa Zaman Abbasi.”
While sharing his feelings about celebration of his 80th birthday Mustafa Zaman Abbasi said, “In fact, on my birthday at this stage I am thinking about my death now. In my life, I did many things, now it is time to end. So, right now I am thinking about Allah. After my death I want to meet my father in that world.”
On the occasion of celebration of his birthday birth festival publication ‘Urilo Sonar Paira’ will be published today. It is edited by Shimanto Akram. Runa Laila, Fatema-tuz-Zohra, Indramohan Rajbongshi, Nashid Kamal, Kiron Chndra Roy, Nurjahan Alim, among others, will render songs to pay tribute to Mustafa Zaman Abbasi.
