Anwar Jahan Nantu is a noted music director of the country. He is the composer of many popular songs like Tumi aamar moner majhi, Aamar ei gaankhani Jodi bhalo lage, Chokher jole ami bheshe cholechhi, Sadher ei sangsar chhaira sarey tin haat matir toley sobai jaibore, Matir koley khanti manush, Aamar surer sathi ayre, Bhapa pitha re tore khaite giya ha, Bhoberi khelaghore khele sob putul khela, Sukhero neere ami neer hara pakhi, etc. He spent his entire life with music. He composed 200 songs till now. But now he is at Kolkata’s Apollo Hospital. He has been suffering from Lever Cirrhosis.
Nantu requested all to pray for his early recovery. He is receiving treatment under Dr Ramesh Kumar Goyenkar at Apollo Hospital in Kolkata from October 5.
Nantu’s son is noted playwright and play director Sagor Jahan who is also with him at the hospital. He also requested all to pray for his father’s recovery. Anwar Jahan Nantu is elder brother of noted film director Delwar Jahan Jhontu. Nantu is 72 years old now.
