Music artist Elias Hossain sued former DUCSU VP Nurul Haque Nur under the Digital Security Act and the court fixed June 6 for submission of the probe report in the case.
Magistrate Sadbir Yasir Ahsan Chowdhury of the CMM Court set the date for submission of the probe report.
Earlier, on Monday (April 19), Elias lodged the case with Paltan Police Station in the capital.
The FIR says, Nur’s comments during a Facebook
live session on April 14 were derogatory. He said Awami League supporters are extortionists, drug smugglers, cheats and frauds. No Muslim may remain with the party. Thus, he abused not only the feelings of Awami League people and also the sentiments of pious Muslims, the FIR added.
Till now three cases- two in Dhaka and the remaining one were filed in Sylhet against Nur for the same allegation under the Digital Security Act.
