Mushfiqur returns to form

Ace batsman Mushfiqur Rahim returned to his form with unbeaten 57 runs against Sri Lanka in their first Group-1 match of the ICC T20 World Cup at Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates on Sunday. Mushfiqur hit five fours and two sixes in his 37-ball innings. Mushfiq stayed at the crease one hour and four minutes.
Sent into bat first, Bangladesh piled up a 171 for the loss of four wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
After dismissal of Shakib Al Hasan (10) when Bangladesh’s score was 56 for the loss of two wickets, Mushfiqur Rahim and opener Mohammad Naim contributed together 73 runs for the third wicket partnership before Mohammad Naim was caught & bowled by Binura Fernando when Bangladesh’s total was 129 for the loss of three wickets.
After Naim’s departure, Mushfiqur Rahim and Afif Hossain put on together 21 runs for the fourth wicket stand before Afif (7) was unfortunately run out by Lahiru Kumara when the Tigers’ score was 150 for the loss of four wickets.
Then, Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah Riyad added together 21 runs for the unbroken fifth wicket partnership before Bangladesh’s innings came to an end.
Riyad remained unbeaten with 10.
Mushiqur Rahim fulfilled his sixth T20I half-century using 32 balls with four fours and two sixes.
It may be mentioned that Mushfiqur Rahim had been out of form for a long time. It was a good news for Bangladesh that ‘Mr Dependable’ has come back his form and shone with the willow again.
