Mushfiqur Rahim nominated for ICC Player of the Month

Ace batter Mushfiqur Rahim has been nominated for ICC Player of the Month (June) award. The other cricketers, who have been nominated for ICC (International Cricket Council) Players of the Month award, are Angelo Mathews (Sri Lanka) and Asitha Fernando (Sri Lanka). Mushfiqur Rahim has got the nomination for his performance in the month of May. Mushfiqur Rahim performed really well in the recently concluded Bangladesh-Sri Lanka two-match Test series.
Mushfiqur Rahim scored 105 runs in the first Test against Sri Lanka. He is the first batter of Bangladesh, who scored above 5000 runs in Test Cricket. The right-handed ace batter remained unbeaten with 175 runs in the first innings of the second Test against Sri Lanka. Mushfiqur Rahim scored 23 runs in the second innings of the second Test against the islanders. Mushfiqur Rahim has taken the 17th position, according to the latest ICC ( the highest body of world cricket) ranking.
Angelo Mathews of Sri Lanka notched up 199 runs in the first innings of the first Test against Bangladesh. He scored naught in the second innings of the first Test against Bangladesh. Mathews remained unbeaten with 145 runs in the first innings of the second Test against Bangladesh.
Asitha Fernando of Sri Lanka grabbed three wickets at the cost of 72 runs in the first innings of the first Test against Bangladesh. The right-arm pacer captured four wickets in the space of 93 runs in the first innings of the second Test against Bangladesh. He claimed six wickets instead of 51 runs in the second innings of the second Test against Bangladesh.
