Dependable batsman Mushfiqur Rahim emerged as highest run getter in the just concluded Bangladesh-Zimbabwe two-match Test series that ended on Thursday.
The diminutive wicket keeper Mushfiqur scored 270 runs from two matches including an unbeaten knock of 219 run in the second Test with an average of 90.00 while Zimbabwe Brendon Taylor was the second highest run getter making 246 runs from two matches including back to back centuries in the second Test with an impressive average of 82.00.
Mominul Haque become the third highest run getter in the series scoring 182 from two matches including a match saving century in the second Test with an average of 45.00 while Zimbabwe batsman Peter Moor was the fourth highest run getter making 159 with an average of 53.00 including two half centuries.
Bangladesh stand in captain Mahmudullah become the fifth highest run getter with 152 runs from two matches with an average of 51.00 including a century in the second Test.
Mushfiqur Rahim also emerged as top scorer in the series with unbeaten 219 runs while Mominul Haque followed Mushfiqur with 161. Brendon Taylor finished third highest scorer with 110 runs in the series.
On the other hand, spinner Taijul Islam emerged as the highest wicket taker in the series taking 18 wickets in two Tests with an average of 20.55 with best bowling figure of 6 for 108 while his fellow mate Mehidy Hasan following Taijul with 11 wickets from two matches with an average of 17.45 with best bowling figure of 5 for 38.
Zimbabwean Kyle Jarvis become the third highest wicket taker with 10 wickets from two matches with an average of 15.50 and his best bowling figure was 5 for 71 runs.
Bangladesh put the highest team total against Zimbabwe in the series as they declared their first innings at 522 for 7 in the second Test while Zimbabwe scored the second highest team total making 304 for all in their first innings in the same Test.
Mushfiqur Rahim and Mominul Haque contributed the highest partnership 266 by runs during Bangladesh’s first innings in the second Test while Mushfiqur Rahim again pairing with Mehidy Hasan Miraz added the second highest partnership of 144 by runs in the same Test.
