Sports Reporter :
Captain of Bangladesh National Cricket team (Test) Mushfiqur Rahim will miss Mustfizur Rahman as the left-arm pacer will not play in the first Test between touring Bangladesh and hosts New Zealand scheduled to be started today at Wellington in New Zealand at 4.00 am (BST).
After the World Cup Cricket 2016, Bangladesh got consistent success at home. Bangladesh lost to England but earned six consecutive series wins in a row. Bangladesh had chances to show positive performance in New Zealand against the Kiwis in three-match ODI series and three-match Twenty20 International series. But Bangladesh failed to show good performances against New Zealand in those outgoing series. Bangladesh have now chance to fight back against the Kiwis in the Test matches. But Mushfiqur Rahim did not get one of the key bowlers Mustafizur Rahman in their Test campaign.
Mushfiqur Rahim said, ” We shall miss Mustafiz. He is such kind of bowler who can shine with the cherry in any format.”
Bangladesh have a shortage of experienced bowlers. In Bangladesh’s pace squad, pacer Rubel Hossain played 23 Test matches. Taskin Ahmed, Subashis Roy and Kamrul Islam Rabbi are inexperienced pacers. Taskin and Subashis have not yet made their debut.
If the wicket of Wellington acts in favour of pacers but bowlers have to maintain their line and length. Otherwise, the pacers of Bangladesh will fail to bowl appropriately.
The members of the Team Management of Bangladesh do not take any risk to include Mustafiz in Bangladesh’s first Test squad against New Zealand as the ‘Cutter Boy” just become fit from injury.
Bangladesh eleven (probable): Tamim Iqbal, Imrul Kayes, Mominul Haque, Mahmudullah Riyad, Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim (captain), Sabbir Rahman, Mehedi Hasan/Soumya Sarkar, Rubel Hossain/Kamrul Islam Rabbi, Taskin Ahmed and Subashis Roy.
