A case has been filed against 164 people including Basurhat municipality mayor Quader Mirza over killing of Sramik League activist Alauddin.
Emdad Hossain alias Raju, younger brother of Alauddin, lodged the case with the Noakhali Senior Judicial Magistrate Court on Sunday naming Quader Mirza as the prime accused.
His younger brother Shahadat Hossain has been made the No 2 accused while Quader Mirza’s son Mirza Mashruk No 3.
Senior Judicial Magistrate SM Mosleh Udin MIzan took the complaint into cognizance after a hearing.
While talking to the journalists on the court premises, the plaintiff’s counsel Harunur Rashid Howlader said that the court accepted the case and asked to present the National Identity Card of the plaintiff.
Alauddin, 32, a CNG-run auto-rickshaw driver, was shot dead while 30 others sustained injuries during a deadly clash between two rival factions of Awami League in Basurhat municipality area under Companiganj Upazila on March 9.
Of the injured, 12 suffered bullet wounds.
On February 19, journalist Borhan Uddin Muzakkir, 30, was shot in Companiganj upazila during a clash between the two groups.
Muzakkir died a day later at DMCH.
Quader Mirza, younger brother of Obaidul Quader, has been making comments against corruption and misdeeds committed by AL men in Noakhali and Feni for the last two months.
On several occasions, he even came down heavily on government officials for their alleged involvement with corrupt politicians.
