Murder case accused secures HC bail placing forged documents

One of the top accused in a murder case at Cox’s Bazar secured High Court bail submitting forged documents. Now he is absconding.
Mohammad Ali Prokash alias Mohammad who is number 2 accused in the murder case was granted bail on June 30 this year by a High Court Bench.
However, Mohammad Ali showed him as the 22nd number accused in the case with the forged documents which were submitted in the High Court with the bail petition.
A Cox’s Bazar Court on May 31 this year rejected a bail petition filed by five accused including Mohammad Ali. But in the forged documents, Mohammad Ali mentioned that he was the lone petitioner in the trial court and he is the 22nd number accused.
The informant and plaintiff of the case Jahed Ali recently came to know about the High Court bail to Mohammad Ali and informed it to the High Court Bench through his lawyer.
In the meantime lawyer Nurul Huda Ansary who appeared in the High Court on behalf of Mohammad Ali prayed for non prosecution of the case in the High Court. The High Court asked him to place a written statement explaining as to why he wants non prosecution of the case. The court fixed July 25 for further hearing.
Senior District and Sessions Judge of Cox’s Bazar Mohammad Ismail on July 14 sent a letter to the Registrar General of the Supreme Court stating the details of the forgery. He said the lower court order that was submitted in the High Court showing Mohammad Ali as the 22nd number accused of the case is a created document with forgery.
The case was filed with the Cox’s Bazar Sadar Police Station on April 10 against 26 named accused on charge of killing Morshed Ali, a resident of Ward No. 9 of Cox’s Bazar Pourahava.
Informant Jahed Ali alleged in the case that a gang including Mohammad Ali premeditatedly killed his brother over a dispute.
