Murder accused killed in ‘shootout’ at Port City

 Mohammad Belal, An accused in 13 cases including of murder was killed in a reported late night shootout with policemen in Chattogram city’s Khulshi area after he surrendered at noon.
Khulshi Police Station Officer-In-Charge (OC) Pranab Chowdhury told media that Mohammad Belal, 43, surrendered around 1pm Wednesday (September 4). At the night, he was accompanied in a drive to recover arms in Jalalabad Hill.
A group of terrorists tried to snatch him from the law enforcers that triggered a 20-minute shootout, around 1am Thursday (September 5).
Belal was recovered from the spot with bullet injuries and taken to Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) where physician pronounced him dead.
An LG, three rounds of cartridge and four machetes were recovered from the spot, added the OC.
