Former state minister for information and broadcasting Murad Hasan has been denied to entry into Canada due to some travel document issues.
Canada’s border services agency burred Murad at Pearson International Airport in Toronto on Friday. Later, he was taken into custody upon arrival by officials of the Canada Border Services Agency for quizzing. Earlier, Murad landed at the Pearson International Airport at around 1:31pm local time.
During interrogation, he was asked about the recent developments surrounding him in Bangladesh. At one point he was informed that a large number of Canadians had appealed to the government objecting his entry into the country, according to media reports.
Sources said, Dr Murad Hasan, who resigned from his post last week, is now staying at Dubai Airport on his way to Dhaka. He bought an air-ticket to return to Dhaka on Sunday.
H is likely to arrive at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at about 8:20am on Sunday.
