Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) has arrested Saifa Rahman Mim, an accused in a rape and murder case.
She was arrested from her Dhanmondi residence on Tuesday afternoon.
On that evening, PBI Chief Additional Inspector General of Police Banaj Kumar confirmed the news to the media saying that Saifa Rahman Mim was being interrogated at the PBI Special Crime South office.

She lived alone in a flat of Plot No. 19, Road No. 120, Gulshan 2 Avenue. Munia’s body was found hanging from a ceiling fan in the evening of April 26 last year at Gulshan, Dhaka
Munia’s elder sister Nusrat Jahan Tania filed a case alleging incitement to ‘suicide’. Later on September 6, Nusrat Jahan filed another case alleging ‘murder after rape’. Eight people were accused in the case. The court accepted the case from Gulshan police and directed the PBI to investigate the allegations. Saifa Rahman Mim is one of the accused in the case.
