Muktijoddha Sangsad KC took a solo lead in the JB Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football after playing 2-2 draw with Dhaka Mohammedan SC in the 5th round match at Muktijoddha Rafiquddin Bhuiyan Stadium here on Saturday
After the day’s match, both Muktijoddha SKC and holders Sheikh Jamal DC have secured nine points each from five matches to dominate the league, but the freedom fighters team Muktjoddha clinched the top slot by virtue of better goal difference.
Muktijoddha scored nine goals conceding four (plus 5) while Sheikh Jamal scored 10 goals conceding six (plus 4).
Mohammedan SC advanced to the 9th slot securing four points from five matches.
In the day’s match, Tawhidul Alam Sabuz struck twice for Mohammedan SC, one in each half while Towhidul Alam Tawhid also scored twice for Muktijoddha SKC, both in the 2nd half.
Tawhidul Alam Sobuz put Mohammedan SC ahead in the 30th minute by tapping the ball home from a rebounder when an attempt of Aminur Rahman Sajib off a Biplu Ahmed pass, came his way from Muktijoddha goalie Mamun Khan (1-0).
Towhidul Alam Towhid restored the parity for Muktijoddha SKC in the 56th minute by a grounder from danger zone, utilizing a readymade through pass of Ahmed Kolo Musa (1-1).
In the 72nd minute, Muktijoddha took lead from behind as their forward Towhidudul Alam Towhid again found the Mohammedan net by a header, capitalizing a long pass from Manjurur Rahman Manik (2-1).
