Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangshad Krira Chakra registered their fourth wins in the Manyavar Bangladesh Premier Football League with a 2-1 goal win over Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra held on Monday at the Bangabandhu National Stadium here.
In the day’s match, striker Enamul Haque opened an account for Muktijoddha Sangshad KC in the 21st minute. Enamul brilliantly placed the ball home from the vantage position after receiving a cross from forward Rokonuzzaman Kanchan (1-0).
Muktijoddha’s lead however lasted a little as Cameroonian striker Paul Emile restored the parity for Sheikh Russel in the 30 minute as his header hit the back of the net on free kick of winger M Zahid Hossain (1-1).
After the lemon break, Sheikh Russel was reduced in 10 men in the 47th minute when their midfielder Hemonta Vincent Biswas was sent off showing double yellow by referee. Senegalese forward Camara Sarba sealed the victory for Muktis in the 63rd minute as defender Sayedul curved the cross from right flank and the onrushing Sarba flicked the ball into the net (2-1).
With the day’s win, the freedom fighters raised their tally to 12 points from 4 matches while Sheikh Russel remained at their previous credit of 6 points from 3 outings.
