Muktijoddha beat Mohammedan

Muktijoddha Sangsad KC earned the 2nd victory in their 3rd Group A match of the KFC Independence Cup Football Tournament beating Dhaka Mohammedan SC by 2-1 goals at the Bangabandhu National Stadium here on Tuesday.
After the day’s match, the freedom fighters’ team Muktijoddha have secured six points from three matches while the traditional black and whites Mohammad remained at three points, also playing three matches.
In the previous matches, Muktijoddha SKC beat Brothers Union 1-0 after conceding 0-2 defeat against Chittagong Abahani while Dhaka Mohammedan SC beat Uttar Baridhara 2-0 after conceding 0-2 defeat against Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club.
After a barren first half, Nigerian forward Ahmed Kolo Musa struck twice for the freedom fighters team Muktis while Guineas forward Ismael Bangoura netted the lone goal for Mohammedans.
In the dull first half, both the teams failed to create any clear chances.
Muktijoddha took the lead in the 73rd minute by a suicidal goal when a cross Muktijoddha forward Ahmed Kolo Musa entered the Mohammedan net deflected Cameroonian defender Pouemi Landry (1-0).
Ahmed Kolo Musa scored his second in the 82nd minute by a curved free kick from about 25 yards (2-0).
Guineas forward Ismael Bangoura pulled margin one back in the stoppage time of the match by a header off a corner of Biswanath Ghosh from the right hand flag (2-1).
Earlier, Mohammedans dominated the match with their quick counter attacks and came close to a strike on a few occasions. In the 26th minute, winger Yusuf Sifat curved a low cross to Ismael Bangoura, who missed the target from top of the six yard box.
In the 65th minute, Ismael Bangoura failed to beat Muktijoddha goalie Mamun Khan in a one to one situation.
