Mukteshwari River recovered from land grabbers in Jashore

Finally, the Mukteshwari River of the Arabpur Union of Jashore Sadar Upazila has been recovered from the land grabbers.
The district administration has taken admirable efforts demands of thousands of people on both sides of the river.
Officers removed the dam at five places on the river from 10am to noon on Thursday. They declared the river Mukteshwari is now open.
Sadar Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Syed Zakir Hassan led the evicted. The erosion drive started from Khayaghat at the Arabpur Union Parishad in the morning.
In the second phase, the dam was removed from part of the village of Malgati.
Malagati – A large crowd of people present on the two sides during the evicted of this large stretch in Bipatangali village.
Here the huge peoples participation to remove the dam of the river. The expedition proceeded to Baliya Bhakutia, a tributary of the river.
Bhakutiya Bazar, Shashanpara and Bashbariya are located in the last part of the area.
The administration has set fire to the pata in both places. Regarding illegal eviction of rotten jute in the Mukteshwari river, Deputy Assistant Engineer of Jashore Water Development Board, Tarun Hussain said, illegal occupants were cultivating fish in five parts of the river.
As a result, the area was being harmed in addition to the normal flow of the river. Sadar Upazila Senior Fisheries Officer Biswajit Kumar Dev said the Muktaswari River is now open to all and flowing reservoir. The obstruction of free flow of the river is against the Fisheries Act.
The dam was removed from the river and opened now. Necessary steps are being taken to use the river for the welfare of fisheries and fishermen.
