A section of the BNP held a press conference in Muktagacha Upazila of Mymensingh demanding the cancellation of the newly announced convening committee of the party. It was claimed in the press conference that the convening committee was formed with opportunistic, incompetent and controversial leaders in the interest of the individual by excluding and utterly devaluing the apostate leaders.
Mymensingh (South) district BNP joint convener Zakir Hossain Bablu is responsible for this and the committee has demanded the immediate cancellation of the pocket committee for incompetent leadership. The press conference was held at the BNP party office in Muktagacha on Sunday. Read the written statement at the press conference, the general secretary of the newly dissolved committee of the BNP and the former upazila chairman Zakaria Harun in a written statement, said, on June 13, Mymensingh district BNP joint convener Zakir Hossain Bablu formed a convening committee of Muktagachha upazila BNP with his own people, excluding the party’s dedicated leaders for his personal interest.
However, when contacted Zakir Hossain Bablu said, “The party activities are conducted under the direction of our senior vice chairman Tareq Rahman. Except for two of those who are opposing the convening committee everyone is in this convening committee. It is a small convening committee; one or two people can be left out of this committee. Next time when there will be a large size committee the committee will be made up of those elected by direct vote”.
