‘Mujibanagar Lib War Memorial features latest technology’

Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Huq said that Mujibnagar will be developed as the Liberation War Memorial within 2021, using the latest technology and modern techniques.
“The government has embarked on a plan in this regard and a primary design has been adopted to build a Memorial Complex of international standard with modern facilities…The area will be broadened to 111.17 acres from 75 acres, ” he said this recently while presiding over a meeting of adopting final design of ‘Mujibnagar Liberation War Memorial’ at Meherpur.
Mozammel added, “Mujibnagar is the symbol of our national history…From the first oath to liberation war, it carries the ideology and cognition of Bangladesh, which will be highlighted for the next generation and our foreign guests,” while talking to the journalists.
The minister said that the PM has raised the allocation from Taka 500 crore to Taka 1000 crore for the construction of the proposed project which will facilitate modern technologies.
An official press release said that, the historical mango trees (Amrokanan) will be preserved and the existing huge map of Bangladesh and other monuments there will be reconstructed.
The memorial will include special facilities, including first aid, for the foreign guests and differently-abled children. An efficient management system to ensure security of the visitors will be ensured.
State Minister of Public Administration, Farhad Hossain, MP and SM Arifur Rahman, Secretary in-charge of the liberation war affairs, also spoke, among others in the meeting.
