‘Mujib Borsho’ 1st Women’s Chess League begins tomorrow

The ‘Mujib Borsho’ 1st Women’s Chess League will begin tomorrow at the Hall Room of Bangladesh Chess Federation. Bangladesh Chess Federation will arrange the chess meet under auspices of Akij Ceramics.
A total of 10 teams will take part in the ensuing chess competition. They are-Bangladesh Police, Bangladesh Navy, Shaheen Chess Club, Uttara Central Chess Club, Titas Club, Sheikh Russel Chess Club, Sonali Bank Sports & Recreation Club, Rupali Bank Sports Council, Sultana Kamal Memorial Library and Bashir Memorial Chess Club.
Bangladesh Police and Bangladesh Navy have formed better teams than other participating teams. Bangladesh Police have recruited Rani Hamid and Shirin Sultana, the two top women chess players of the country.
Marking the nine-day long chess meet, a press conference was held the Hall Room of Bangladesh Chess Federation on Monday. Member Secretary of the Women’s Chess League Committee Mahmuda Haque Chowdhury Moli, Head of Sales of Akij Ceramics Ashraful Haque were present at the conference, among others.
Moli said, ” Bangladesh Chess Federation has taken a good step. It was important for Bangladesh’s chess to arrange a chess competition for the women only. A total of 10 teams are going to take part in the chess league. The competition will inspire the development of Bangladesh’s women chess.”
