A high-powered Bangladesh delegation, led by Finance Minister AMA Muhith, is expected to attend the 41st Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) billed for May 17-19 in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The other members of the six-member delegation include Economic Relations Division (ERD) Senior Secretary Mohammad Mejbahuddin and Bangladesh Ambassador to Indonesia Md Nazmul Quaunine, said an official at the ERD.
The official said all the delegation members except Bangladesh Ambassador to Indonesia are expected to leave the capital for Jakarta on May 16 and return home on May 19.
Indonesia is hosting the 41st Annual Meeting of the IDB Group Board of Governors. Jakarta, the evolving and most promising financial and economic centre of Asia, will embrace the IDB Group annual meeting in this May.
Enhancing Growth and Poverty Alleviation through Infrastructure Development and Financial Inclusion will be the overall theme of this year’s meeting.
The annual meeting will gather IDB’s 56 governors, mostly finance and economy ministers, in addition to hundreds of policymakers and top leaders from its international and regional partner institutions.
The Annual Meeting will also provide its stakeholders a platform to explore practical solutions, strengthen partnership and cooperation between its 56 member countries.
