Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith has dubbed Khaleda Zia’s call for national dialogue “total rubbish”.
Incidentally, the finance minister had faced criticism for using the word ‘rubbish’ while reacting to economic issues on several earlier occasions.
The minister for a change used the word on Friday
while reacting to a political issue.
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, currently in London undergoing treatment, in a statement on Thursday said the country was experiencing a ‘crisis’.
She hoped the government would initiate a national dialogue to overcome this.
“Total rubbish! All statement is rubbish! Rubbish!” is what Muhith said when reporters asked for his comments on Khaleda’s call at the end of a programme in Sylhet.
The finance minister then hurriedly left the place in his car without giving the reporters any chance to seek an explanation.
