Finance Minister AMA Muhith leaves Dhaka for USA tomorrow on a three-week tour to attend the annual meeting of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank (WB) Group.
The 2014 annual meeting of the IMF and the WB group will be held on October 10-12 at Washington DC. Before attending the meeting of the IMF and WB, the finance minister will be present at a number of programmes in New York, including the 69th UN General Assembly, celebration of 40th Anniversary of Bangladesh Membership of the United Nations (UN) and the Global Citizen Festival-2014.
During the IMF and WB group meeting, the finance minister will attend the thematic presentation on ‘”Lessons and Challenges of Economic Transition” and Luncheon by International Development Bank (IDB) Group. Besides, the minister will participate in the Commonwealth Finance Ministers Meeting.
Muhith will return home on October 17.
