Finance Minister AMA Muhith on Thursday stressed establishing more bank service outlets across the country to take financial goods and services to the doorsteps of people.
Addressing a conference of Bangladesh Development Bank Ltd (BDBL) subscribers at Doyamir Bazar in Bishwanath upazila, the minister said banks functioning in a densely populated country should open more branches so that they can reach all the subscribers with the needed goods and services.
At present, banks and financial institutions of the country have a total of 8,000 branches and the number is not redundant considering the density of the population, he added.
