Finance Minister AMA Muhith on Tuesday expressed his deep shock over the death of Suvra Mukherjee, wife of Indian President Pranab Mukherjee.
In a message of condolence sent to Indian President Pranab Mukherjee, Muhith said, “Please know how very saddened I am at the loss of your beloved wife Smt. Suvra Mukherjee. During this difficult time, let me express my deepest condolence to you and your family. I know that you are a strong person and I am sure you can handle this world with fortitude.” Pranab Mukherjee’s wife Suvra Mukherjee, who traced her roots to Narail in Bangladesh and still has family there, passed away at a hospital in Delhi on Tuesday morning at the age of 74.
