Muggers looted Tk1.20 lakh after stabbing a fruit trader at Dayaganj intersection in the city early Friday.
The victim was identified as Yusuf, 50, a resident of Sayedabad Janapad intersection in the city.
Victim’s wife Shahinur said a group of muggers intercepted a rickshaw carrying Yusuf in the area and
snatched away Tk1.20 lakh from his possession while he was going to Badamtali for purchasing fruits at around 5:30 am.
Being resisted, the muggers also stabbed him indiscriminately, leaving him critically injured.
Later he was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
