Muggers looted Tk 24 lakh from two service representatives of mobile phone-based payment switch ‘bKash’ from Siddhirganj in the city on Thursday noon.
Parvez Reza, manager of ‘bKash’ agent ‘Jamal and Co’ in the city, said a group of seven hoodlums in three motorcycles intercepted the bike of SRs Arif Hossain Abul and Aktar Mahmud in front of Rinaloy CNG Filling Station at Shimrail on Dhaka-Chittagong highway around 12:30pm.
The thugs took away a bag full of money from Arif after shooting him and hitting him in the head.
The injured was first rushed to Sajeda Hospital at Shimrail and then shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Confirming the incident, Inspector (Investigation) of Siddhirganj Police Station Anisur Rahman said a police team visited the spot.
