Snatcher shown arrested while going for treatment at DMCH

Two persons, including a mugger, sustained bullet injuries in the city’s Gulistan area on Saturday afternoon.
Injured Sujauddin Talukdar, 38, an Executive of Navana Engineering Ltd, and Jahidul Islam Sohag, 40, were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
Based on information, police rushed to DMCH and shown arrest of Sohag as a snatcher, said DMCH Police Outpost Inspector Bachchu Miah.
Victim Sujauddin said that some youths opened fire indiscriminately
near Hanif Flyover, East side of Gulistan Park around 1:00pm, leaving him injured. Miscreants also snatched away his hand bag, reports media.
Besides, victim Sohag, claiming him as a truck driver, said that he received bullet wounds in his leg while he was crossing the place.
Paltan Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Mahmudul Haque said, a scuffle ensued between mugger Sohag and Sujauddin while Sohag tried to snatch away Sujauddin’s bag. At one stage, Sohag shot in the Suja’s leg with his gun. Sohag also injured by his gun.
Sohag’s accomplices managed to flee the scene with the bag, the police official said.
Sohag is now under police custody in the hospital, the OC said. Legal action will be taken against Shohag on charge of firing during the snatching incident, he said.
