Israt Jahan Sadia, a ten-grader student of Mirzapur Pilot Girls High School, who was kidnapped by a group of miscreants on November 19, is yet to be traced, family sources said.
Even the kidnappers are now threatening her parents to abduct their younger daughter if the case filed against them was not withdrawn.
Shahid Siddiqui, father of the abducted girl came up with the allegation at a press conference held at Mirzapur Press Club on Tuesday.
He alleged that the miscreants led by Kawsar Ahmed GM, son of Akter Hossain of village Dehovog under Mohera union of Mirzapur upazila kidnapped his elder daughter on November 19 on way to her nearby uncle’s house in the evening.
Sadia was abducted at gunpoint by a group of miscreants led by Kawsar. They picked up her by a motorbike forcibly when she shouted for help. People came to her rescue but the gang left the spot quickly, he alleged.
Shahid Siddiqui filed a kidnap case with the Mirzapur Police station following the incident.
“Kawsar frequently throws abusive languages and indecent proposals to Sadia on her way to school. As she did not accept his proposal, Kawsar threatened her several times that she might be kidnapped,” her father said.
The miscreants are now threatening to kidnap her younger sister as their father refused to withdraw the case filed in connection with the incident.
Police are yet to find any trace of the girl.
“Kawser and his associated are giving frequent threats to me to withdraw the case. They arew also threatening that if I do not act as per their suggestion, then they will kidnap my younger daughter,” Shahid Siddiqui told the press briefing.
“We’re trying to rescue the girl. Drives have already been launched to nab the culprits,” AKM Mizanul Haque, Officer-in-Charge of Mirzapur Police Station told The New Nation yesterday.
