At least two workers of a local brick field were killed and another seriously injured after all on a sudden soil muffled on them while they were working at Damorhoda in the district of Chuadanga on Tuesday morning.
The incident took place at Joyrampur Sheikh Bricks Kiln around 8.30am.
The deceased were identified as Abdul Hannan, son of one late Kala Chand Mandal of Keshabpur village and Babu Mia, son of Lal Mohammad of Bastopur village of the upazila.
Local sources said that, like other day, Hannan and Babu were working at brick kiln; when, a large portion of mud fell on them. They were rescued instantly and rushed to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital where the duty doctors declared them dead.
Dr Shamim Kabir, Residential Medical Officer of Chuadanga Sadar Hospital, said the bodies have been kept at the morgue and will be handed over to their families after the autopsy.
Sukumar Biswas, Officer-in-Charge of Damurhuda Model Police Station, confirmed the incident to the media.
