Muazzin of a mosque at Torkir Char area under Gournadi upazila of Barisal district has been arrested on Friday for violating a minor girl.
Alauddin Milon, Officer- In -Charge of Gournadi police station, said Mawlana Abdur Rob, 56, of Kalkini upazila under Madaripur district and Muazzin of neighbouring Torkir Char Baitul Aman Jame Masjid of Gournadi was arrested on early Friday.
Shohidul Islam, father of the victim, lodged a case in this connection and the five-year old victim sent to Barisal Sher- e- Bangla Medical College Hospital for medical test and treatment on Friday, police sources said.
