The Mutual Trust Bank (MTB) Independence Cup Squash begins today (Wednesday) at Bangladesh Navy’s squash complex and Gulshan squash court in the city.
Housing and Public Works Minister Engineer Mosharraf Hossain, MP, is expected to inaugurate the meet as the chief guest. Bangladesh Squash Federation (BSF) president Farque Khan, MP, will be present as special guest on the occasion.
Assistant Chief of Naval Staff of Bangladesh Navy Shaheen Iqbal, Gulshan Club president Sakhawat Abul Khayer, MTB managing director and chief executive officer Anis A Khan will also be present at the inaugural ceremony.
Sponsored by MTB, a total of 92 players, including two national squash players of Nepal, will compete in the five events of the seven-day meet, organised by Bangladesh Squash Federation (BSF).
The five events are premier division, A division, B division, under-17 division and under-11 division. Country’s four best players and two Nepalese national players will represent the premier division.
