The writer of the book Mrityunjoyi Sheikh Mujib/ Sheikh Mujib the Death Vanquisher has long been contributing to our literature. He has 20 published books of poetry and is well known as a creative poet. ‘Hundred poem’ is a compilation of his English poems. His creativity includes novel, research, children juvenile stories and rhymes.
Mosarrof Hossain Bhuiyan has been awarded Kabitalap Shahitya Puraskar, Nazrul Shahitya Puraskar, Jibanananda Shahitya Puraskar, Jasim Uddin Shahitya Puraskar, Che Guevara Shahitya Puraskar, Bhashani Shahitya Puraskar, Mother Teresa Shahitya Puraskar and some other literary prizes for his creativity and contribution.
Mrityunjoyi Sheikh Mujib/Sheikh Mujib The Death Vanquisher by Mosarrof Hossain Bhuiyan is a bilingual book containing original Bengali poems and the translated English versions by Poet Rudro Rasel and edited by Poet Milon Sobbasachee.
The background is the long struggle of the people of the then East Pakistan against domination and exploitation of the autocratic rulers of Pakistan. And finally the great War of Liberation, victory and emergence of Bangladesh as an Independent country and the people-a free nation.
The Nation owes to the leadership and sacrifice of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, a legendary world leader with praises from all quarters concerned. Particularly he was acclaimed by the intelligentia-the poets, journalists, writers and historians.
Poet Mosarrof Hossain Bhuiyan presents his homage in this book. He has written many poems on Bangabandhu of which 40 have been included in this compilation. The poet has the art of creativity to depict the heroic performance, contribution of the leader and the struggle of the people with befitting words and lines in poems. He has presented the portrait of the leader from different dimensions. As the son of a freedom fighter’s family, the poet could closely observe the inhuman atrocities-massacre, and the cry of the raped women by the Pakistani army during the War of Liberation. The poems echo the tragic condition of the people and submit reverence and exalts Bangabandhu for his undaunted and dynamic leadership leading the nation to the goal of Independence. Poet Rudro Rasel retains the theme in proper perspective in the English version.
