A two-day training session on financial literacy ended on Monday in Chittagong to make female employees working in EPZ industries understand and manage their finances better, said a press release.
Management and Resources Development Initiative (MRDI) in association with HSBC and Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) hosted the training sessions titled “Training of Trainers (ToT) for Chittagong and Karnaphuli EPZ Social Councillors”.
A total of 22 social councillors participated in the session.After the training, EPZ social counsellors will now be able to disseminate knowledge among workers which will help them grow as responsible citizens.
MRDI Executive Director Hasibur Rahman said EPZ workers will be trained about the value of savings and sensible spending of money they earn.
Appreciating the initiative, BEPZA Chief Engineer Md Ashraful Kabir called for greater engagement of corporate sector in CSR activities that directly addressed the welfare of EPZ workers.
“We feel delighted that the effort will contribute to help workers become financially literate.”
MRDI executive director thanked BEPZA and HSBC for coming forward and joining hands.
He said EPZ workers now will be trained about the value of savings and sensible spending of money from their hard work. The social counselors of EPZs can disseminate the knowledge to the workers helping them become responsible citizens.
