ABM Fazle Karim Chowdhury, MP of Raozan constituency and Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Railways, has received the National Fisheries Award -2021 in recognition of his significant contribution to the national fisheries .He received the medal at the inaugural ceremony of National Fisheries Week-2021 at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital on Sunday.
Fisheries and Livestock Minister S.M Rezaul Karim was the chief guest in the presidency of the Speaker of Parliament. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury (virtual). Agriculture Minister Md.Abdul Razzak was the special guest in it . Chief Whip of the Jatiya Sangsad Nur-e-Alam Chowdhury MP, Dhirendra Debnath Shambhu MP, Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock among others were present on the occasion.
It may be mentioned that MP Fazle Karim won 4 national awards including ‘Environment Award’ in 2013, ‘Bangabandhu Agriculture Award’ in 2017 and ‘National Award for Tree Planting’ in 2018. He also won the first National Fisheries Award -2021 for special contribution to fish conservation in Halda, the only fish breeding center in Asia.
