MP Bodi’s relative held over Yaba peddling

Police have arrested Mong Mong Sen alias Mamsi from Cox’s Bazar’s Teknaf for alleged involvement in Yaba peddling.
He figures third in the list of most wanted Yaba traffickers maintained by the Department of Narcotics Control (DNC).
‘Mamsi’ is a relative of Awami League MP Abdur Rahman Badi who represents Cox’s Bazar-4 in parliament.
DNC officials allege Badi has been a patron of Yaba trafficking and his relatives are also involved in the racket.
But the Awami League leader has repeatedly denied the allegation.
The police arrested ‘Mamsi’ after a raid on his Chowdhurypara house in Teknaf municipal area on Saturday noon.
Teknaf Police OC Mokhtar Hossain told this news agency “Mamsi figures third in the list of seven top Yaba traffickers . 764 people figure in the list.”
Yaba is the Burmese name for amphetamine, an illegal drug manufactured in Myanmar’s in famous ‘Golden Triangle’.
