The High Court on Monday granted an interim bail for six months to Awami League MP Abdur Rahman Bodi in a case filed by the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) on charge of accumulating wealth illegally.

Mahmudul Huq and Justice Md Akram Hossain Chowdhury passed the order after hearing a petition filed by the accused.
Former Law Minister Abdul Matin Khasru stood for Bodi while Khurshid Alam Khan represented the ACC.
On October 12, a Dhaka court sent the Awami League MP to jail rejecting his bail petition when he surrendered before the court and sought bail in the case.
A Metropolitan Session’s Judge Court also on October 16 denied bail to Bodi after hearing a petition filed challenging the bail rejection by the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court.
Meanwhile, the ACC on October 19 filed a petition with the court seeking a 10-day remand for Bodi in the case. The court is yet to hear the petition.
On August 21, the ACC filed the case with Ramna Police Station accusing MP Bodi, MP from Cox’s Bazar-4 constituency (Teknaf-Ukhia), of amassing wealth illegally.
