The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) yesterday summoned MP Abdur Rahman Bodi to ask him about the sources of his wealth and properties, which rose unusually during the last five years.
ACC Deputy Director Ahsan Ali sent a notice to the MP asking him to appear in the Commission’s head office by 10:00am on February 16.
Ahsan Ali confirming it said that the MP was summoned as the part of the investigation work into his wealth and properties.
Earlier, ACC operated a drive at Abdur Rahman
Bodi’s village home on January 27. Later, the Commission seized his income returns and affidavit on January 29, which was submitted with the nomination paper during the 10th parliamentary polls to the Election Commission (EC).
On January 12, the Commission in its exclusive meeting, decided to enquire into the wealth and properties of Bodi with other six MPs and ministers following news published in some dailies and telecast by TVs that they earned huge illegal wealth.
