US Ambassador in Dhaka Dan W Mozena and US Agency for International Development (USAID) Mission Director Janina Jaruzelski on Monday started a five-day multi-district tour to see the progress of USAID’s development programmes in the country.The two US officials will visit Barisal, Patuakhali, Pirojpur, Jhalakati, Barguna and Bhola. The visit is a continuation of the Ambassador’s pledge to visit all 64 districts in Bangladesh, said an American Embassy media release. During the visit, the Ambassador and Mission Director will tour USAID’s development program sites such as WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene), the Cereal Systems Initiative for South Asia (CSISA), SPRING (Strengthening Partnerships, Results and Innovation in Nutrition Globally), aquaculture project sites, the Nobo-Jibon community and a horticulture site. Additionally, Ambassador Mozena will meet with local government officials, police superintendents, and civil society during the tour of the districts and will enjoy some of the cultural and historical sites of the region.
