SD Rubel is popularly known as a singer to all. In own music videos, he always got appreciation from all as an actor. When director Ehtesham was alive he proposed him to work in his movie. But during that time he was so engaged with music he could not act in the big screen.
In 2011, SD Rubel first worked in Montazur Rahman Akbar’s movie ‘Ebhabey Bhalobasha Hoye Jai.’ Shabnur was his co-actress in the movie. His acting was appreciated to all. After that Rubel was thinking about a story. Later he gave title of the story as ‘Briddhasrom.’ Komol Sarkar wrote script from Rubel’s story.
With the government-grant and under the direction of Swapan Chowdhury casting Rubel as a hero shooting of ‘Briddhasrom’ has started from November 21. SD Rubel will be seen to act in role of an educated jobless person but who works for the society his second movie. Bobby is his co-actress. Bobby will take part in shooting from December. Syed Hasan Imam, Shampa Reza, SD Rubel and Mahmudul Islam Mithu took part in shooting from November 21 to 23.
While talking about ‘Briddhasrom’ Rubel told this correspondent, “After acting in my first movie I got many offers to work in big screen. Story of ‘Briddhasrom’ is owned by me and I got government fund for its making so I have agreed to work in this movie.”
Syed Hasan Imam said, “I am playing the role of grandfather where Mithu is acting in role of my son and Shampa Reza in role of my daughter-in-law in the movie. Rubel is playing the role of my grandson. While working in the movie I really faced a realistic situation.”
Rubel informed that movie is being made to release either March or April of next year. His 37th solo album will be available on CD in end of December, he said.
