Movement for preventing corruption underscored

The common people from all walks in life should come forward to launch anti-corruption movement for preventing corruption to further accelerate the pace of national development. Newly appointed Deputy Director of Rangpur District Combined Office of Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) Mozahar Ali Sarder said this at monthly meeting of District Corruption Prevention Committee (CPC) as the chief guest. The District CPC organised the meeting at Rangpur Sahitya Parishad auditorium in Rangpur with its President Professor Mozammel Haque in the chair.
The District Combined Office of the ACC and RDRS Bangladesh assisted in arranging the meeting under the Justice Reform and Corruption Prevention (JRCP) Project being implemented with financial assistance of German Development Cooperation.
Assistant Director of District Combined Office of ACC Atikur Rahman, Vice-president of District CPC Dr Nasima Akhter and its Members attended the meeting that discussed various organisational issues and future action plans. District Manager of JRCP Project Ershad M Rasel delivered welcome speech in the meeting moderated by General Secretary of the District CPC and valiant freedom fighter Akbar Hossain.
In the beginning, President of District CPC along with its Members welcomed newly appointed Deputy Director of ACC Mozahar Ali Sarder with wreaths on his joining at Rangpur District Combined Office of ACC. In his speech, the chief guest stressed on mobilising the social forces, common people and young generations to launch a vigorous movement against corruption for eradicating the social disease from every sphere in the society. “The people of Rangpur would set up a glaring example in preventing corruption through launching a vigorous anti-corruption movement,” he said while citing the glorious contributions of the people of Rangpur in different movements over the centuries.
Terming corruption as a chronic social disease, Professor Mozammel Haque urged all to work with positive attitude and changed mindset to raise an unequivocal voice against corruption in building a corruption-free nation.
