From her childhood Moushumi Barua has been attached with acting. She has also experience of acting with theatre group outside the country. In 1998, she got the gold medal in Rabindra Sangeet at the national level contest. But she later became a programme host.
For the last 17 years she has been working as a host in Channel i. Therefore, for the last 14 years, she is also working as a programme producer in the channel. She is a regular host of Channel i’s viewers’ choice popular shows like ‘Gaaney Gaaney Sokal Shuru,’ ‘Taroka Kothon,’ ‘Gaan-er Utsab.’ In special days’ ‘Boithoki Adda’ (gossiping session) of the channel is also being hosted by her. In a sence, though it seems to be easier to host any show but Moushumi mentioned it as a tough job.
While talking in this regard Moushumi Barua told this correspondent, “I always feel comfortable to host TV shows. But sometimes it feels a difficult task for me. When any legendary performer or celebrity attends any show where I am a host in one side I feel happy on the other hand I become fear if I do any wrong or mistake. But with full of my confidence I have been regularly hosting in different programmes of Channel i for last 17 years successfully. I am really grateful to Faridur Reza Sagor Sir and Shykh Seraj Sir in this regard.”
Today is Moushumi’s birthday. “Today I will celebrate my birthday along with my two families – Channel i and own family,” she said.
In her childhood, Moushumi represented Bangladesh in stage play in Germany under the banner of People’s Little Theatre. When she was confirmed to work in play ‘Konjush’ she became busy with her study. She younger daughter of Jhorna Barua and Samir Barua.
