Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) with Amazon and Alibaba, two of the world’s leading electronic commerce (e-commerce) companies, are under process to be signed soon.
The State Minister for Telecommunications, Tarana Halim, said the government has taken steps to open up e-commerce doorway for home businesses, during a parliamentary session on Thursday.
She said: “We are still in the process of connecting Amazon and Alibaba with the businesses at home. Once this process is completed, MoUs with Amazon and Alibaba can be signed alongside Mastercard, which can then facilitate the electronic payment gateway.
