When Durga Puja comes, activities of the artistes specially singers are increased. Basically singers have to remain with busy with
various stage shows in and outside the capital. Talented singer of present generation, who has melodious and sweet voice, Moumita Barua is passing busy times around Puja. On the occasion of ensuing Durga Puja, she has already rendered a song titled ‘Mahadeb.’
Prosenjit Ojha wrote lyrics of the song, while Shovon Roy has composed its tune and music.
Singer Moumita informed that on Saturday, music video of the song was also completed. This song will be released soon on a YouTube channel. While talking about rendering the song, Moumita told this correspondent, “Shiva Tandava is essentially a praise of Shiva and it is also appeasement of Shiva. This type of concept in music is very new and most probably for the first time this arrangement in Bangladesh. Prosenjit Ojha Dada has planned and also gave direction of the song. Shovon Roy has composed tune and also arranged music of this song with the blending between semi-classical and western music. Overall, it has become an outstanding song. It is absolutely a song of new genre. For this reason, I am hopeful about this song. Singer Badhon Sarkar Puja, GM John, who is a singer, music composer-director, and singer Ajoy Roy, who is a lecturer by profession, also lent their vocals along with me in the song ‘Mahadeb.”
Meanwhile, Moumita got the opportunity to render a song titled ‘Ekti Chhele,’ which lyrics were written by legendary lyricist of the country Gazi Mazharul Anwar, who recently demised. Apu Aman composed music of the song. Therefore, Moumita also renderded another song titled ‘Tumi Gechho Shudhu Hariye,’ which lyrics were written by Asif Iqbal and music was composed by noted singer Kumar Bishwajit. These two songs will be released on YouTube soon.
Moumita also said that on September 26, 28 and 30, she has scheduled three different shows RAB. She has also planning with these shows. Therefore, she is regularly performing in musical shows on Channel i. She will render Imran Mahmudul rendered song titled ‘Tumi Dure Dure Aar Thekona’ with Mesbah Bappi in the segment of ‘Ei Gaan Sei Gaan’ at Channel i-Music Awards. Moumita has already taken part in the shooting for the music video of this song.
“I am getting positive response for two songs titled ‘Aj Aamar Mon Bhalo Nei’ and ‘Bare Bare Tomake’ of two dramas. Shahriar Rafat has composed the first song, while Shovon Roy has composed the second one,” Moumita added.
