Court Correspondent :The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka yesterday (Tuesday) framed charges against BNP leader Barrister Moudud Ahmed and other 40 leaders in a case filed under the Speedy Trial Act.Magistrate Muhammad Tareq Mainul Bhuiyan passed the order against 41 BNP leaders, rejecting their plea to exempt them from the case.The court fixed October 12 for recording the depositions of the witnesses against the accused.Among other accused, BNP leaders Mirza Abbas, Amanullah Aman, Goyeshwar Chandra Roy, Barkatullah Bulu and Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Anee were present in the court during the hearing.On 6 March 2013, Habibur Rahman, a Sub-Inspector of Paltan Police Station, filed the case accusing the 41 BNP leaders for torching vehicles and preventing police from discharging their duties during the BNP rally in front of BNP’s Nayapaltan office on 2 March 2013 in the capital.
