A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Dhaka University (DU) and the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Institute of Asian Studies (MAKAIAS), Kolkata, India was signed on Monday in a simple ceremony at the Dhaka University VC’s office.
Dr. Sreeradha Dutta, Director, MAKAIAS and Treasurer of DU Prof, Dr. Md. Kamal Uddin signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations.
DU vice-chancellor Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique, Chairman, MAKAIAS Sitaram Sharna and DU Professors Dr. Imtiaz Ahmed of the Department of Intinternational Relations and Dr. Mesbah of the Department of History were, among others, present on this occasion.
The main purpose of the MoU is to provide mutual assistance in the implementation joint research projects.
Moreover, joint seminars and symposiums will be organized to strengthen bilateral co-operation and collaborations between the organizations.
DU vice-chancellor Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique thanked the MAKAIAS authorities for signing the MoU.
He hoped that through signing of this MoU, both the organizations would be able to contribute significantly to the development of academic issues including research projects.
